It's not bootlick. If it were bootlick, you'd see a list of trite goodbye messages. Instead, we're seeing genuine emotion from the multitude of people he's touched.

There's no such thing as `genuine emotion` when dear bugs (including you) out here are all profiteering from the relationship at hand. Also, it doesn't matter that you think this comment is trite. It is bootlicking for those who do not `know` or will `know` Garry in any capacity. And for those who have been touched by his positive work/quiet influence: they have nothing to do with this thread, nor this community. Thanks.
