No, you bought up the irrelevant point that you don't like it and it should be formally amended out of the Constitution. I brought it up as another contemporary example of crystal clear highest law language that our betters insultingly ignore.
- coldpie 11y agoC'mon, you brought up an anti-gun-control argument on the Internet and didn't expect it to start an argument? We're both smarter than that :)
- hga 11y agoNo, I brought it up as a matter of currently contested fundamental law, and I guess it's escaped your notice that there have been well more than a dozen recent useful discussions on HN pertaining to the RKBA et. al. Most especially interesting were the "Hey, the NRA is really powerful, how can we get some of that juice?" (The unfortunate answer I have is "Only after the authorities maim, kill, or otherwise harshly persecute enough people to get millions of citizens sufficiently enraged" based on illicit/illegal NSA spying or whatever the topic is.) Both these things, limited durations of IP protection and the RKBA, are enshrined in our highest law, in simple language understandable by anyone on HN, and are being furiously contested and nullified in the Federal courts. That there are useful parallels to be drawn should be obvious to all, and that has been my general experience.
