General Motors says it owns your car's software
- dekhn 11y agoI think this is a reasonable position to take. GM takes on a long-term responsibility to maintain the software in your car, including pushing updates to it. I don't want to own the software that runs my car; I consider a service that the manufacturer maintains for me. I can see the other side (being a long-time FOSS user) but I still license software and don't consider it to be owned by me.
