Because last week I made the mistake of asking her for a marinara - which is a simple tomato and garlic pizza - with the addition of mozzarella.
No, unless this paraphrasing misrepresents the original wording, that's not the issue.
Far more likely is the "Black coffee with milk" suggestion at the end of the article.
- Dylan16807 11y agoI don't know. If you specifically ask for a "pizza rossa with mozzarella", that's a contradiction. But to ask for an item that just happens to by itself be a type of pizza rossa, and then ask for mozzarella on top, I don't see the problem. You're not asking for a contradiction, you just want two items put together. If I go to a burger joint that offers an option with no burger patty, and I order "cheese sandwich with a burger patty added", I've gone a bit roundabout but I haven't asked for anything contradictory or 'nonexistent'.
- dewiz 11y agothe black coffee with milk is the right example, as you don't order a veggie burger with meat.
- jrochkind1 11y agoI order veggie burgers with bacon on top all the time, it's delicious.
- StavrosK 11y agoI don't see how that's different. Take black coffee, add milk, that's what I want.
- lucozade 11y agoI interpreted it not as her saying that she wouldn't make the pizza he wanted. She did. She was saying that you can't have a pizza marinara with mozzarella because it's a contradiction. Like black coffee with milk. You can of course add milk but then it's a white coffee. As you can add mozzarella but then it's a margherita.
- raverbashing 11y agoThough you are right it is black coffee + milk, but it's not called black coffee. In practice it might seem that a Marinara + Mozzarela might be the same as a Marguerita + Garlic but in practice it may not (for example, amount of sauce, cooking time, etc)
- nightcracker 11y agoVeggie burger with meat, vanilla ice cream with chocolate flavour, mild peppers with a bit of extra spice, etc...
