well ideally i think you would design your constitution/institutions such that it takes more than a simple majority to overturn the system. no system is perfect, everything has tolerances.

if you were mailed a copy of your vote later and asked to verify it, you could just say it was invalid or correct it via a mail in response form, if you had been threatened

i agree i kinda wish we had a parliamentary system right now, but I feel that online voting could be done if it can be done in a secure way, but parliamentary system won't happen. then again i don't think online voting will happen

actually i think we are more limited than a turing machine since even the default turing machine has a (single) infinite tape/running time. But there is a quantum turing machine/quantum lambda calculus as well. just has (probably?
