Asking to see my facebook profile is like asking to see my family photo albums including any pictures that include my friends. Would your manager allow you to look through every photograph ever taken in their life?

Why would you post links to ruby based irc frameworks here? I might as well of come here and posted VB, C++, or any other language, it's just spam. Not that we expect much more from a rails user though

Why shouldn't the engineers have new Aeron chairs? Software Engineers spend most of their careers sat down, so you should buy them the best damn chair you can afford, something that supports their bodies and is very comfortable. Look at fog

Generally good companies give interns real world work in the UK. So much so, the teams you work with may not even know you are an intern. A year in industry is what secures good jobs for alot of good people. Coming out of Uni without a plac

As long as you dont stay in Q&A for too long then you're ok. Otherwise you risked getting labelled as the Q&A guy and that will stick.

You're way to late, good placements are usually gone by April, relying on the careers office was a massive mistake, it's far better to apply to all the big companies around December time. Any later and people like me have already taken the

Most UK universities don't do it like that. Usually, the first year is worth nothing, the second year is 1/3 and the final year is 2/3. Sometimes you do an extra year inbetween the second and thid year if you take a year out in indsutry. Al

Of course I read it. I still think none of this is even remotely insulting. PHD doesnt mean your good, MS dont spawn brilliant ideas, and ideas are pretty much nothing, as paul graham seems to agree to.

I don't understand why this would be downvoted. I wasn't rude or obnocious in any way, I just stated my opinions on the post. If you think I'm wrong then tell me why rather than trying to silence me. This isn't reddit.
