I really enjoy laravel currently. It's just fun that I can focus on my app instead of the stuff that's just tedious. Also not relying on some 3rd party Auth is a huge bonus for me.

Bots were easy to detect, now they're almost indistinguishable from human interaction. The death of the internet would be an incredible loss for humanity. You will not be able to trust anything you find online. Nothing is safe from thi

What makes you think we are generally happier? Europe is experiencing a right wing shift due to people being unhappy. The coming years won't be good for any of us to be honest.

To be completely honest, it's pretty easy to find a job in the current market. Maybe american market is different but in Europe you can practically just chose some company and you'll get a job.

Yup, this. Not being able to answer this question is the result of people just shotgunning job applications without checking up on the company first. I wouldn't want employees that could not answer why they would work for me. I also wo

It's also not a bad thing to be honest. There's so much content on the internet that would be best deleted.

If you can't keep track of your lies just start to gaslight e.g. "I have never said that", "probably didnt mean it", etc...

I will use Vue js as I like it a lot. Won't run my own auth and I already implemented client side auth with auth0 and Vue. But I wouldn't know how to let people auth server side for example. Auth is a really deep rabbit hole and u

I agree with the point in the post to be honest. I'm no data scientist, but a programmer and in my point of view it's always good to use less resources. Considering how much data data scientists have to work with, I can imagine th

I might do, it's just way more work than in other countries. 90% of which I really don't want to bother with.

I agree, it's difficult in most countries. Germany has tons of additional laws regarding taxation too. I for myself wouldn't even want to try opening up a business solely due to the taxation expertise I'd have to look up into

It is, but in Germany your taxes on wage is very high. It's easier to save up a financial safety net in countries with higher wages and less taxes.

It does, but it's about 10k€ and you need to meet certain requirements. Recovering from a 10k€ loss will take some time in a country with extremely high taxes.

This is a good argument. In Germany, if you take a loan to open up a business, you can pretty much ruin your whole life and financially never recover if it fails once. It's a little different with tech, as you usually don't have a

I feel that. I work in tech since only 4 years now, but I see a more general problem. People need to be taught in a more software agnostic way. Like, how to properly use a search engine to research a software related issue instead of going

That's basically what I do half of my day... I am supposed to develop, but can't get into a productive state due to my colleagues calling me all day with stupid questions I answered like 3 times already.

This is funny considering I live in the center of Schleswig-Holstein and work in IT. People barely know how to work with Excel, they most likely won't figure out anything remotely different...

Honestly, that's one of the reasons I never want to monetize my work and stay miles away from the software industry. Modern world is all web apps that require you to subscribe to 20 different 3rd party services to even build your app.

Too many distractions. Software architecture not transparent enough. Design pattern hell where it's not necessary. Too many devs who do not know what they are doing.
