Why exactly is it bad science if the most pessimistic scenario is slightly more pessimistic than reality? IPPC reports are too conservative because insufficient attention has been paid to the importance of tipping points, feedback loops, an

If you use a subtitle (or similar) as a watermark, it can be easily removed. So why should you watermark at all? So the answer is probably no.

Before Windows XP (2002) "DLL Hell" used to be a real problem too. Also a lot of current EXEs need at least Windows 7 SP1 to run.

1. Object-oriented programming. At that time, no one gave a clear explanation of what was actually meant by it and how to implement it. The various schools of OOP often did not acknowledge the existence of other (heretical) schools, which c

I did ask both questions and found the answer to "Why did large SMP systems become mainstream?" more coherent. Broken down into bullet points, the arguments given for both questions would be AFAIK correct.

Microsoft software supports UTF-16 (not only UCS-2) everywhere these days (yes, even in COM). But you can probably still find errors here and there. I have no problem with saving text files in UTF-8 and normally do. I just wish SCSU was han

I have asked myself the same question. However, I observed that the switch from UCS-2 to true UTF-16 was already very bumpy, with strange bugs and tons of edge cases that only got significantly better in Windows 8. A forced switch to UTF-8

Depends. QEMU can use Apple's Hypervisor virtualization framework to run ARM64 operating systems on Apple Silicon without emulation. It seems to be possible to then use Rosetta 2 to run x64-code on those operating systems.
