It would be high time for some capable & easy to use IO instrumentation in Linux. This (vmstat) has been the state of the art for ~ 20 years and you often long for something better. Not to mention it's pretty inaccurate sometimes -

Wow, high time for this! https://f-droid.org/wiki/page/Build_Server_Setup seems to have some clues on the automated build system.

I don't think it has been tried too many times in practice, because software binary translation is so proven (eg. like in android x86, or rosetta on mac, or fx!32 on nt, etc etc). Itanium is the only one that comes to mind. Any others?

I think it would be a justified move (in an evil kind of way). Most of the interesting exploits these days need to leverage more than one vulnerability. This kind of thing would give you a marked advantage in penetrating systems, and do so

This language is pretty problematic especially in context of these third party hosted services. If Google have the keys and the encrypted data, what do we know about the security properties.

Android is not a FOSS product, there's just parts of it that are open source ("AOSP"). There's a big heap of proprietary parts starting from the kernel level going up to Play Services that are required for a functional A

3-4x game perf differences from CPU code autovectorization sounds way high? From what I've seen you'd be pretty lucky to average 3x speedups on isolated vector-friendly loops with hand rolled ASM, translating to much smaller whole

Did Hangouts start enforcing the true names policy recently or was it ilke that from the start? It makes it pretty useless especially if you want a multi party hangout and/or don't know all your contacts to be full-on G+ believers

Yeah, isn't this what "the future" was going to look like back when xhtml was a thing? I guess there were some missing building blocks on the dom/scripting side, but what's the syntax story. edit: found a clue here,

I think this can be remedied by providing a sufficiently unnatural sounding "real name" for the pseudonymous google id you use on the tablet. Then you get kicked out of Google+ automatically.
