1 bit + time == Morse code. I'd say you can convey any data with just 1 bit - imagine Morse code but only with dots. Although, it would be tedious (if you want to do it by hand). But if you think of it as series - then yes, that is a t

Sublime Text 2 start-up time increased significantly after I installed Haskell support package.

Voted for C++. Pretty high points. Unfortunately, this is not reflected in recent "who is hiring" threads. Lets hope for the best in the upcoming one :)

If you really learn C++, it will take some time, of course, but afterwards, you'll be able to swallow any new language in a week or two (or three, for Haskell).

To say in simpler words, regarding implementation - the main trick is to "store" the flag in the argument itself. It is a quite common trick, I'd say.

Sounds aside. You know your "honest" question shows you're an idiot, right?

But I suppose, similarly to USA, most cool jobs are left for their citizens. They as well specify that there is no relocation support.

I'd love to work on PDP-11 as a programmer, and I'm currently looking for a job. Where should I apply?

While type inference is nice, I'd still prefer to mark locations explicitly.

US Patent and Trademark Office won't have any issue as well. Consider to apply.

Nice! I hope "Thinking code" and "Data-orientation" parts will get more attention (and space), versus ClojureScript and "weby" stuff, in case there will be a trade-off.

I guess they didn't get much traction with "opa language" and now they advertise it as "opa framework for js". It is odd that they still don't have any SQL database support.

Similar but more specific question would be - How do you get a "Postdoc" job without a PhD?

Can anyone recommend some high-level/architecture/design patterns books/materials about Go? (e.g. similar to SICP or Art of Prolog, or maybe GoF).

Totally agree. PhD/academic path is stuck in 1800s. I just don't want to relocate on every next academic job (starting from PhD).
