In (my) theory your salary is between the company's best alternative (hiring someone else for X) and your best alternative (go work for other company for Y). Companies do well as they interview many candidates. Developers generally do

Hm, I also see the benefits of having a suggested way of doing things, like gofmt. Maybe I'm wrong.

This is valid about any feature. It's like adding 10.000 pages to the docs and saying you don't need to read them unless you want to.

What upsets me about go generate is that it is orthogonal to the language, yet it comes baked in. It unnecessarily increases the footprint of the language, while essentially killing any alternative approaches. Feature creep comes one featur

By the way, many people make valuable content and support their work by ads. Ads are online currency. I am not using adblock because it is like stealing their work without paying.

The Do Not Track movement says Do Not Make Money. The entire movement is pissing against the wind. Tracking is how these companies make money. This is their motivation system. A "low" of current online physics is "tracking ma

This sounds like you have several bugs in your processes. That's likely normal as you grow, and luckily you have a built-in alarm to beep that now it is time to fix them, it is no more premature optimization. Congratulations for hittin

I am not saying having a recording of the class is not important. It absolutely is. Just let me download it. I guess Khan Academy and it's breed could satisfy both camps.

One shouldn't take notes at all. Class is for understanding ; material should be available in books. Notebooks are an escape if the class is boring/irrelevant. They should not be banned, so students can make at least something
