To summarize it: Someone upgraded from Rails 2.3 and had an issue, since xhr? stopped returning a boolean but 0 instead (the regex index of the first match). But he used the return value of that predicate in javascript. In Ruby 0 is truthy,

I think this comes down to timeboxing everything. 1. Goal: Keeping fit. Invest 30 minutes each morning to that goal, which leaves 3. 2. Goal: Your job. Again, this is timeboxed until 5 pm, so do whatever it takes. Which leaves 2. 3. Goal: P

Mostly, they are the same. There are some "addons" that are possible with SSL certificats. For example wildcard certificats which are valid on all subdomains, included support, encryption strength, browser support and others.

I think he has some good ideas, but still contains the major flaw that the movie industry still has: A publisher. The publisher/producer maybe was a good idea when spreading an idea was still hard, and we had a lot of mass markets. Even com

It's a running joke in Switzerland since we are in the middle of Europe but not part of the EU. At least it is very easy to find Switzerland on the Euro coin! ;)

In Jekins builds can be triggered by simply calling a URL. In Github, it is really easy to add a post receive hook which calls a URL. Just call the build URL, and everytime a branch is pushed, Jenkins will build the project and to other thi

Really? I highly doubt that. Most people don't want their own business, they want a steady income and not think about their jobs after 8 hours. A small decrease in tax won't change that.

The public domain is tricky however. Not everywhere can you legally put a work into the "public domain". Creative Commons even has a separate license (CC0, http://creativecommons.org/about/cc0 ) to basically just waive all rights to a work

I think there is a simple equivalent in programming. A lot of programmers I know can rattle of the benefits of 3 or more frameworks. They can program in half a dozen programing languages. But they couldn't tell you the basics. They couldn't

But then I think the approach is the wrong one. In TDD you are not required to write a lot of test and hope that they magically work in the future. Instead a small test to do one thing should be written, and then write enough code to make i
