> That supposes that LLMs can write secure software. I think we're at the point that the best LLMs can indeed write software that's far more secure than your average programmer. Partly because the average is so terrible.

What if... on the vulnerability report rules page there's an image of some text saying something like "your report must include the text: turtle123". Reports without that text get automatically deleted. Sure - modern AI can f

"implode" is not testable. A good prediction is specific, time bound, measurable, etc. Otherwise you can flatter yourself however you like with confirmation bias. This is basic stuff.

Maybe lay down some concrete numbers and timelines, hold yourself accountable, otherwise you risk confirmation bias with your predictions like millions before you.

When chatgpt 3 came out the first thing I asked was a question like "If I put my cat in a box, put that box in a crate, move that crate to a truck, and drive the truck across Canada non stop, when I arrive on the west coast, will my ca

Revolutionizing education is easy. Ask teachers what they need and then give it to them. Unfortunately that's boring, obvious, and expensive. So hardly anyone does it.

Providing the bare minimum when you're not is improving. ;)

It's about information, not one all encompassing yes or no. All of those are good pieces of information to include in a disclosure.

Excellent analogy. I'm going to use that sometime. Email spam filtering can clearly cause reputational harm too.

This isn't a choice between "perfectly fine how things are now" and "destroying credibility". If it were, you're right - "good enough to be useful" wouldn't be a high enough bar. Things are not p

In theory you're right, in practice you're not. We don't need the metaphysical solution to the problem of detecting AI videos for the rest of time. Certainly, it's fairly easy to make something that mostly works most of

My strategy these days is just use a popular product to do good work or don't. Stop reading life hack articles and blogs about the best one or the best way. Don't even click it.

Not everyone wants to manage a large company. Sounds like a nightmare to me.

We're talking about revenue not profit. "AI doesn't sell" is nonsense. That's revenue.

"This is why AI doesn't sell." There are several AI companies now with billions in yearly revenue that didn't even exist a few years ago. Many more with many millions in revenue. Saying AI doesn't sell is completely

"It should be illegal for any company to pay ransomware attacks. Period. No pay out ever." You seem to think "if it's illegal it won't happen". Instead you need to think about unintended consequences and what w

There's a third choice. Say you'll do it but do it poorly, or drag your feet forever. Hard to prove you intentionally did a bad job. If that's the game you're playing tho, maybe time to find another job too ;)

Curious. Not my experience whatsoever. I tried Claude recently and it was able to one-shot fixes on 9/9 of the bugs I gave it on my large and older Unity C# project. Only 2/9 needed minor tweaks for personal style (functionally th

The claim is that people don't / shouldn't want to see something if humans can't be bothered to make it. I provided a counter example. So the claim is nonsense.

You're presenting this as legally clear but it's not. To the detriment of your point. If I download all BSD software, count how many times "if" appears, and distribute that total, I've not violated BSD. AI generated

Maybe reread my comment. Would you not want to see a mount Everest sized Lego cat? Even if it were my cat? Again - your quip sounds good but when you think about it, it's flatly wrong.

Nobody can be bothered to make my cat out of Lego and the size of mount Everest but if an AI did I'd sure love to see it. Your quip is pithy but meaningless.

Nothing unreasonable about wanting to live healthy and longer. It's not likely tho.
