Based on the blog post's FAQ my impression is you can still do that. My impression is it's only for apps in the play store (and the corresponding export play store AAB to APK feature) that you are required to giving your keys to G

So the stated reason for taking these down is they include the IDs of people who agreed to have their IDs shown in the video? Sounds sort of like some overzealous content moderator misapplying rules, though it could be more malicious. It&#x

I don't think NixOS is getting too much credit. This is an accomplishment, even if it was built on the shoulders of giants.

I disagree that no one is going to commercialize anything without exclusive rights. Most things that are commercialized are done so without exclusive rights. We don't see restaurants patent new dishes, yet they create new dishes noneth

Our political system is dysfunctional. So even if some people realize problems with the rules, corporations and other entities will lobby so as to continue profiteering. In addition, US culture really values making money and forming profita

Not to denigrate your work, but if the company failed in retrospect wouldn't it have been better for society if it didn't have the patent? I would think that the situation where the one company with rights to the invention fails t

Maybe if it was easier to unsubscribe (i.e. by making the unsubscribe button prominent) than to report as spam, less people would default to reporting it as spam. But in my experience, the unsubscribe button is quite difficult to find.

With regards to poker, "bet sizing" in the original article is equivalent to "bankroll management" in poker parlance. Bet sizing within individual hands is indeed a matter of game strategy, but the stakes you should play

I wonder how professional gamblers approach bet sizing. It seems to me that for most applications the Kelly Criterion is not the right choice. The utility of money is asymmetric; gaining $25000 is worse than not losing $25000. Relatedly, mo

I agree with this comment. In my opinion there should be stronger laws regarding the misuse of police power, but those can be implemented at the state level, the extension of the CFAA to that is dangerous. One key point is this document: &g

No, the area of the country with the biggest drug problem is Appalachia [1]. California is better than most states in terms of drug overdose deaths. And as others have pointed out, psychedelics aren't really the problematic drugs. [1]
