Yes there is. Overflow panics by default in debug mode, and you can turn that in in release mode with the overflow-checks compiler option. There's also checked_add.

Huh, without taking a position, I get a lot different impression of those numbers than you. 23 billion profit against 31 billion dollars in revenue implies a 190% profit margin. And I wonder if those numbers even fully account for the effec

The second and third groups contain many general consumers, so I who you intend include in that. Is your point that only ideologues believe that Google deserves anti-trust scrutiny?

Better to get institutional support up front and make scientific knowledge freely available then to not charge authors and then limit access with noisome subscription fees.

To pick an analogy that is biased in favor of the IA, isn't it a better comparison to say, Q: "Why did you violate that segregation law?" A: "Because it's immoral and bad for society."

I wonder if the code and network weights will ever see the light of day. I wonder what the eventual value proposition of working on this sort of stuff is. I suppose they are just going to try to apply the algorithms to better things. I'

This is baffling. 57 police officers symbollically resigning because two officers who nearly killed someone are suspended (not even charged or fired). The union president specifically invokes the Nuremberg defense. I say symbollically above

I had the (mistaken) impression that the GCC code signicantly transformed the algorithm because there is only one recursive call instruction, but looking at it closer it's still exponential. I still think it's a pretty silly idea
