As others have alluded to, this works fine for municipal drinking water, but we're finding PFAS in our food supply now (they're in lakes, streams, rivers, vegetables, meat, etc). We cannot feasibly clean all the surface water and

I hope this becomes a reality - we really made an mistake introducing these, I think. The hard part, I suspect, will be regulating all the different forms of "forever chemicals" and not having it be a perpetual game of whack-a-mol

As someone who drifts in and out of PM roles, this. The very nature of Product Management is quite squishy in practice. I don't have a scientific number on this, but in my experience out of a group of 10 PM's, there are 1-2 great

I thought I read somewhere that the provision that required cablecard specifically access is no longer in effect. They still must provide access, but what that is seems murkier than ever: https://www.nexttv.com/news/fcc

Avenza (iOS/Android app) has done all the heavy lifting - you can download area maps and your position will be shown correctly on the map if you allow location services. Most of the BLM/USFS land I've been to recently produce

Yes - 100%. There is zero excuse for not knowing/abiding by local rules/regulations. The USFS, BLM, and others have troves of information posted online. A local area has gone to great lengths to put up signage stating that unlicen

Everything you wrote is bang on - please, please, PLEASE: Leave no trace. Haul out your garbage. Don't shoot, shit, or camp within 100 yards of streams, creeks, or rivers. Don't make fire rings where they already exist. Abide by f

I've tried a couple of self-hosted solutions to accompany my use of Google Photos in case Google ever decides to pull a stunt with Photos. Nextcloud was basic, but serviceable. I liked that it handled docs, contact sync, etc. The sync

I don't quite understand, though - is there a certain length it needs to exist before it can be torn down without judgement? The article mentions the Dubai Pearl, which broke ground in the early oughts finally being demolished. Admitte

I think there's actually two camps of "AI-fear" right now -- one is that they'll become superhuman smart, gain some form of "sentience", and decide to not play along with our games anymore. These are the loudes

I think you can get something similar to this nowadays even from the big insurance companies. I thought I remembered some startups doing micro-transaction insurance policies that started and ended with each new trip -- did some searching an

Even if you turn out to be flat wrong, I still appreciate the level-headedness to consider how we got to this point and the urging we all slow down a bit before we all march on FedEx headquarters.

!! Careful to not conflate - payload is not the same as towing capacity. The 2023 Colorado has a payload capacity of 1,310 to 1,610 lbs. To get much beyond the 1 to 1.5k lbs PAYLOAD capacity, you need to move into a full size truck, ideal

Don't get a Tacoma for this - a Kimbo weighs upwards of 1k lbs, right at the limit of a Tacoma's payload capacity. Add in fuel, people, water, anything else heavy and you're above the rated capacity before you know it.

I don't think most people care enough to bother you, but there's very little "stealth" about a Sprinter/ProMaster van. They used to go unnoticed but they don't anymore. It's a dead giveaway when there is a

We've (Coloradoans)been dealing with wildfire smoke pretty much forever. On average our air quality is quite good, but fires in any of the PNW/SW states regularly impact our air quality during the spring, summer, and fall. We he
