You missed https://github.com/zubairq/pilot on the list

Actually Pilot works in the same way. It treats all code as independent of the file system, identified by the h SHA256 of the content. https://github.com/zubairq/pilot

I agree with this. I think people don't mind text being there, as even all so called Visual Languages have text in their boxes. People want to understand "what" their program does in a more clear way, and Structured editing,

I wish I could +1000 this. "Standups and Demos were all about self-promotion"

Thanks, glad you like it. We haven’t really pushed it out yet as we really want to get the debugger and App Store released before we can say it is useful

Really nice. I tried to get Windows look and feel in the headers for the Yazz code editor, but maybe I should have used this CSS lib instead. Great Job! https://yazz.com/app/homepage.html

Key cloak is pretty awesome. So far it is the only authentication mechanism that we have provided for our open source Dev tool at https://github.com/zubairq/pilot

I loved Visual Basic too. So much in fact that I am trying to build a modern web based take on Visual Basic using nodejs and JavaScript at yazz.com

Cool, so alchemy was like medieval chemistry! But I guess the motive was to make a quick buck by making gold! :)

Quite a lot of difference. Alchemy is science and software development is art

I’m working on yazz Pilot which is supposed to be a modern take on Delphi or Visual Basic. I will take your comment to heart and make sure we implement proper layouts and positioning for the web

Can I do server side stuff with it too? If so I have some great uses for it

Great stuff. How do you monetize EasyLang?

Yes this is correct. We use content addressable code, inspired by Unison for yazz Pilot, and it makes so many things in the ide really simple, including dependency management and stuff like that

Very interesting, even though we don’t have a compiler in the traditional sense for yazz Pilot as a container image is our output format, many of the points are still valid. Also very interesting how rosalyn had the idea of compiler as an A

Yep SQLite is in fact serverless. We based our open source web based IDE on SQLite and it works fantastically. The best part is that you can even take a SQLite database and use sql.js and run it offline in the browser!

I program slowly now, and only program in my head and on paper. Only when I am 100% sure that I have something I can add as a small step to a larger working goal do I touch the code

Yes you can write terrible code with my Visual basic clone in Javascript here instead: https://github.com/zubairq/pilot

This is pretty good. I built an open source project on GitHub that listened to table changes in Postgres a few years back and could relay them back to the UI

We are building something like that at yazz.com, but still early days

Visual Basic died because Microsoft chose not to continue development of the VB6 comatible ecosystem. It was a multibillion dollar a year business in the 1990s

Yes, we are building something like this, very VB 6/Deplhi like at yazz.com

Yes yazz Pilot lets you build an admin panel by pointing at a dB and then it queries the database tables which you select visually

Having made a no code tool myself at yazz.com I definitely agree with many parts of this article. For prototypes or very simple one screen crud apps no code can be the right fit

I have done exactly that with a language called Pilot. It is not pure JS but based on JavaScript and all code is content addressable and indexed by the sha256 of the code

Good point. I actually meant that google had an internal API for search which they use for customizing the search engine which I guess that they have not opened

On the one hand I agree that Google saying that we need Open interfaces is correct, but then I also know that most code within Google itself is closed source. Does anyone know if there is an Open Interface to Google Search?
