How is it slander? It's pretty obvious that these companies did steal the design (JavaScript and all).

I may be wrong, but if they have a presence in the UK they most likely do not need a presence in Germany. Through EU agreements, Germans are allowed to work legally in the UK.

If I leave my keys in the car, leave the car turned on with the door opened, are you authorized to drive my car?

It would have made more sense if they were using stolen ATM cards.

Interesting read. Was sad to click through to his homepage and find out that he had already passed away in 2000 due to an automobile accident.

Seems bogus. The Ashburn router is pingable (at least from near Ashburn) even though it's listed as down: Pinging 67.215.65.132 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 67.215.65.132: bytes=32 time=14ms TTL=56 Reply from 67.215.65.132: bytes=32 ti

Note for clarity: The data transfer would not remain anonymous, only the trackers facilitating it.

Disappointed that it took me about 5 minutes to figure out why this was so important to HN. Neither the title or the link gives much information about what this is or why it is so great. Maybe I'm just dumb.

Why is it okay for Google to do it but not say, Oracle? It's ridiculous no matter who does it.

Something I've wanted to build someday but never did is exactly this but for xmpp, etc. I'd love to have a central place with my chat logs, etc. Someone go build it, please!

Really nice. Commute is very inaccurate for the Indianapolis area, however. One marked as 1 hour took me 25-30 minutes.

Retailers have the wrong attitude about this. I have come in to stores many times intending to buy something online and ended up buying it at the store instead. Retailers need to find a way to present the product better (live interactive de

To be fair, the return policy only lasts for about 14-30 days; then the manufacturer will have to service it.

You could do an Ookla like thing and create a mini version people can host. My server seems to be in the same place as yours, otherwise I wouldn't have minded hosting one.

I miss andLinux and coLinux. Since using a 64 bit OS they no longer work, but they natively emulated the whole Linux kernel and offered a pretty integrated solution. Not lightweight by any means, but just what I wanted.

I have the 14.99€ server as a development box that I access from the states. Truth be told, the disk IO and processing speed is slower than a Linode 512, but for 2GB of ram, 1TB of HDD and the transfer you can't really beat it.

I called Ireland once to immediately validate my account and they seemed friendly enough. OVH supports Kimsufi boxes. The dedicated server has been up without issues since I bought it. The server is hosted somewhere in Northern France near

I had a VPS at Hetzner I replaced my Linode with. Really liked it. For the same price, though, you can get a really underpowered dedicated server at kimsufi.ie through OVH with more ram and HD space.

While this is true, an unintended consequence is that no other waiters care at all about you. If yours is neglecting you, you're going to have trouble getting another who's not receiving a tip from you to care.

Reminds me of grain/food aid given to the USSR during hard times. Even the Cold War US was afraid of what could happen with weapons of mass destruction during desperate times.

Agreed, but that's not quite how it works in Enterprise software, I think. Enterprise software is developed to cover a wide spectrum of businesses whose business rules, etc differ greatly. Because of this it's hard to make a product that "j

Not stylish ones. You can generate a PDF resume off of your linked in profile, but really it's not very good.
