I've learned programming on a website similar to elance (rentacoder, now known as vworker). Started with simple logo design jobs, advanced to simple php scripts, then c++, java, etc.. It was worth for me, coming from a developing country wh

Not bad at all. I've been through this a couple of times. Generally, you are a lot more likely to be successful with something fun or entertaining than with tools and utilities. Now you can use the success of your chrome extension to promot

I've been once on the other side of the "be nice, it's a f####ng gift" situation. I had a subscription at a local telecom company, which provided both telephony and broadband internet. I went and cancelled the subscription in July 2010, and

I've been in Beijing for the past 3 months, and I've been relying solely on Google Maps to get around. I never had one single problem. If there ever was any discrepancy between maps and the real world, I didn't see it. I don't doubt there a

It should be part of G+, because it's cool and google usually does cool things. But it is indeed useful only for the top % of users, because the average user doesn't get that many reshares. PS: yes, I would really love to be able to build a

Reminds me of a 25-year old programmer I interviewed once, who's resume sounded like this: - 3 years worked with iOS - 2 years worked with Android - 6 years PHP - 4 years Java Those aren't the exact numbers, but if I were to add the years t

I was just thinking the same thing. Wishing this to suck, but knowing that this actually is too good to pass. I've developed in the past for Samsung's Bada OS, Palm's WebOS, a lot of apps for Android and right now I'm working with Windows m

I love apps that do one thing alone, and do it well. A couple tips though: - keep the main app colors to 2-3 maximum. You currently have a rainbow there: red header, blue row selection background, gray app background, white buttons - as iva

Nah, ICS allows you to disable any application, not uninstall it. It's basically in a state which just uses storage space, which is still a good thing. But who's to say that manufacturers won't modify ICS and disable 'certain features' ?

Smart move for both Dropbox and HTC. Everybody wins, and the users get the most out of this. Hopefully we're going to see more deals like this, but PLEASE manufacturers, don't make these apps un-uninstalable (like google did with Twitter..

How is that consolidation ? It's just a struggle for one more push before the IPO, one more spike for their company to be valued as high as possible. It's a smoke curtain. Don't get me wrong, if I were Groupon I would do the same thing, but
