The JVM is awesome. Not a big fan of Java as a language. The 'less is more' is lost on most Java programmers I know of. Golang fits in nicely in such cases. If I want the JVM, I rather build a clojure'ified uberjar.

We use golang for a lot of our ops stuff. Earlier it was a repo of a mash of different python/ruby scripts. The runtime dependencies were hard to keep track of and they had to be installed on all the machines depending on the script be

You might also want to take a look at Negroni since it's supposed to be more idiomatic. There's a blog post about this by the author himself. http://codegangsta.io/blog/2014/05/19/my-thoughts-on

There is a popular alternative as well, Raft. https://ramcloud.stanford.edu/wiki/download/attachments/1137... Has anyone used both? What are the pros and cons?

Those kids must be really smart. I still have co-workers who can't get the $GOPATH foo right. :(

You could pick up the Nexus 5. I switched to OPO from Nexus 5 and it had the perfect dimensions. Lightweight and great for one-hand usage. The battery is a bummer though.

Shameless plug: http://sudharsh.me/blog/2013/12/07/jenkins-build-status-on-a... Everyone out there seem to start out with a CI traffic light using Arduino. This is no exception :).

I ended up buying a pebble instead for this reason. Has a pedometer in addition to customisable watch faces and apps. Also, a great conversation starter :).

Openmoko did that before Android. Sadly, it had a very lukewarm response owing to a not-so-good hardware.

Wow... I tried reading with the Kindle app on my Samsung Note. I couldn't do it. The 7 inch tablet on the other hand...

This looks neat but I find it weird that they targeted the iPhone first instead of the iPad. Isn't reading on iPhone hard?

I used org-mode before but I didn't put enough effort in learning it. Plain .txt files worked but I started missing linking between 'Notes' or 'Tasks' after a while. I picked up org-mode again after trying a few online tools (including Goog

There is a typo in the sample code. 'herf_avoidance_timeout = 60'. It would be neat if we can use the Jobtastic task as a decorator, similar to the celery.task decorator. That way I won't have a bunch of JobtasticTask subclasses, that only
