This promotion is of course targeted toward writers but how amazing would it be to have 2-5 focused days to hack while on the train? Perhaps mobile connectivity would be an issue in some locations but the upside of the focus-time would pro

For live demos, I use Airplay to mirror the display to an AppleTV. For online demos, I use an app like AirServer or Reflector that make my laptop an Airplay-receiver and then share my desktop/screen over G+ hangout. I highly recommend

If it takes 90s to test 2^32 floats then it should only take about 12,257 years to test 2^64 doubles.

Why not make the Inspector app listen on a predefined port? With no configuration (like if launched from Xcode) the client-app could try to connect to inspector at localhost on that port. Otherwise, do what PonyDebugger does and allow you

I love Spark Inspector but they just don't respond to support requests. Because it uses Bonjour to connect your app to the Inspector, if you are on a corporate LAN, the Bonjour publish often fails. The only work-around is to disable

It would be cool to be able to download an SDK and build experiments with this without having to email sales and engage in a licensing agreement for the software first. I've always appreciated the fact that SaaS products like parse.com, tw

The comments here remind me of the negative feedback Heather Arthur got when she dared to open-source some code: http://harthur.wordpress.com/2013/01/24/771/ . The code is on Github. If you find a bug then why not fix it and send a pull-

NYC, mobile developers, most jobs are in the 70-80k range with 1-3% equity. That is a low salary at a small amount of equity for someone with a relatively in-demand skillset. Please check my maths: in the best case scenario, if you get 3%

I'm not going to argue about whether what they did was right or wrong but I am going to argue about why they make the decisions they do. A company with a 475B market cap doesn't just do things to be "elitest and a d*ck". I often see these

I'd like to talk about this from the other side of the table - the interviewee. I think interviewing is broken but I really don't know the answer how to fix it so I have to just "play the game". I'm pretty good at "playing the game" but I
