Still just a drop in the bucket compared to their quarterly profits. When will regulators get wise?

And regulators are obviously unwilling/unable to hit them with fines that really make a difference beyond "cost of doing business" small change.

More Google bullshit about how they must have total control over the device you bought. And lawmakers won't move against it because they can use that total control for their own purposes by proxy.

Are they microsofter in the brain than MicroSlop? MegaSlop? GigaSlop? Reading "Windows" and "quality" in the same sentence already triggers every bullshit alert in the book.

Which is still not enough punishment for a decision like this. But without adequate consumer protection laws abuse like this is to be expected.

> for AI that leaves room for it to be more clever than we ourselves are. How probable is that given that LLMs output the average of their training data? Your own cleverness would have to be below average for this to hold.

Well, the promise of AI is that every idiot can achieve things they couldn't before. Lo and behold, they do.

Safari has a "Remove Distracting Elements" feature. Try that. Some web sites can only be visited with the weapons of an exterminator at hand.

In other news: Water is wet. Still, it probably bears repeating. I'm sure some NIMBYs said more housing would drive up prices.

I certainly keep an eye on these developments, but I think the jury is still out on how useful/beneficial they actually are in practice. Generating more code in less time is not a useful measure of productivity for me.

> + multi-agent backend Does that mean you need AI subscriptions just to run your backend? That explodes costs even more than opaque cloud pricing. Sweet!

There is no hope of stopping the deluge of sewage. The convenience of generating infinite amounts of waste with the press of a button will trump all other considerations.

I have lost patience with Israel. The state behaves like a hopelessly spoiled child because they know their stupid parent will bail them out of any bad situation of their own making. I'm quite disgusted with both of them.
