With such confidence in your comment, I'm sure you can point out many successful precedents for such cases.

> military aircraft get a free-pass to break FAA regulations Because FAA regulations literally do not apply to military aircraft. FAA regulates civilian aviation.

tbh this feels lot like people throwing Drake equation around. You put in whatever random numbers together and you can get any result you want.

At what point was that true? For example right now ec2 has granite rapids cpus available which are very much the latest and greatest from intel.

Of course cloth sims of varying fidelity are everywhere. Even games have had cloth sims for decades at this point. But it is also something that remains a research problem how to do efficiently and with good results; pretty much every year

I think the proper litmus test for these newfangled source available licenses is if the company is willing to operate under the terms of the license, or are they carving out special position for themselves as the copyright holder. In almost

The article mentions dynamic memory sizing as one of the benefits of WSL2 over traditional VMs, but afaik Hyper-V supports that on normal Linux VMs too. WSLg is genuinely pretty nifty, but for command-line stuff WSL2 imho doesn't reall

I feel there is very little calculation going on in the design. To be useful like pascaline you'd need at least some convenient way to input numbers.

I'm annoyed that Postel didn't deprecate .com/.net/.org after ccTLDs were introduced. Would have made DNS so much cleaner and at least have a chance of making the hierarchy/tld somewhat meaningful.

For 64 bit timekeeping arguably for lots of uses counting nanoseconds makes a more sense than seconds. You can still cover decent usable range (2^64 ns > 584 years) and save the need for separate subsecond counter. What would be the most
