Thank you for always bringing previous discussions up. It's nice to get a broader view of what people think, especially when there's little activity in the current thread (which isn't the case here but sometimes is).

I don't think the statement about declarative UIs needing hacks is true. In Flutter or Elm for example, you can write something like: if condition then ConditionalWidget1 else ConditionalWidget2 Where this if-statement is embedded

From my own memory, trans topics had hardly any coverage in the news (= my best indicator for popularity/acceptance) 7 years ago in 2016[0]. I think widespread acceptance is a very recent thing and it somewhat seems like the T in LGBT

Those interested in the history of scientific thought might enjoy a great book by Arthur Koestler called "The Sleepwalkers", accessible, readable and well-written. It's also endorsed by modern philosopher John Gray as a precu

I had hit the rate limit a few trimes when it was new, but never since then. I think the limit has been either removed or vastly reduced from that experience. I don't see any of the people I follow complaining about it either.

What's the issue with single open source developers providing solutions? I would expect they'd have an easier time than married ones because of the time commitment married people should give to their family.

Statistically, the number of Muslims in America seems to be stable, accounting for those who convert to and away from Islam[0]. It doesn’t look like it’s dying to me. [0] https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2018

I think (guessing) the two of you might possibly be using different definitions of “better”/“worse”. We’re not morally responsible for the fact some of us may have mental disorders (some like OCD which I have won’t leave us entirely),

It sounds similar to (but possibly different from since I never heard the term "slice universe") the theory of presentism in the philosophy of time. That's the view that all that exists is the present. What we call the past i
