I see, I do agree it is nice to have your data fully owned (like really) and safe on device (or devices), though, sometimes it doesnt feel like enough in the ever changing landscape of the internet.

Google is at the heart of it, an ad business. Nothing that undermines that business model is going to make sense for them to keep around, and 'privacy preserving advertising' is very possible, it's better for google to not tr

I really dont agree with "fully owned", you arent running on anything you actually own ie self-hosting. It's all on the cloud , which dont get me wrong, is pretty cool and helpful, but hardly yours.

Webfishing was unironically a game that really helped me. Virtually fishing with random people on the internet brought me so much joy I dont know where I'd be without it.

A great idea in theory, but I would just prefer doing what a lot of wikis are doing now and just leave fandom, breeze seems to be getting pretty heavily rate limited for me anyways.

I feel as if trusting an LLM to do all the work for you makes the issue worse, at least with no-code tools, you had some understanding of what was happening, even if their interfaces were lacking at best, and it's just better to use co

This is a great start for Apple having just entered this product sector (even if they did just gobble up Intel's modem division to do it, it's still by no means easy), this is an outstanding showing. Apple's long term goal li

I think that's a somewhat synical way of thinking about it. I view teaching more as incubating an egg. You try to give good information and inspire your students to learn more, so that they can prosper. Sure, you might "never see

100% I love self-hosting all my services, self-hosting means freedom. I'm using old parts from my PC, email, nextcloud, tor node, game servers, and, yes, even AI stuff with the gpu I threw in there.

yes and no. The reason we prefer going to C is because of C's massive adoption, whatever you're writing, if you cant use C with FFI, you can basically write it off. Technically C does has some sense of a standard, but not really,

I think as long as Java has a massive backing, more people are going to want to use Java and create a self-perpetuating cycle. Even if the frontend tech changes, like Java to Kotlin to Scala, etc, the backend will always be the same. The JV

This is super cool, definitely impractical, but a cool marketing stunt none-the-less. The Teslas definitely have a bit of an advantage on this largely closed course and relatively short drive to the docks, but still very cool to see!
