Well, I'm asking you to tell me why you think your thing is a "virtual DOM". And your only response on this thread is "this is a virtual DOM, because that is what the expression means". Why is it what the expression

No it's not stupid - your etymology makes much less sense to me. DOM in virtual DOM refers to the tree that browsers use internally and provide an API against, not just any tree like structure that can be serialized to HTML (which seem

The definitions are important. I agree with your message (your thing is better than say rails templating) but virtual DOM basically means "react-style virtual DOM, implemented in client side JavaScript, with fast diff support, used to

What word currently means what "literally" used to mean (ie non-metaphorically)? I'm fine with words changing their meanings but in this case it seems to needlessly leave a hole in the language.

There are a small number of people who think it's obviously false! (I'm not one of them). And a larger number who think it's not obviously true nor obviously false.

For sure - as I understand it in most formulations you throw out lots of sets but keep all the finite sets of natural numbers, the set of even numbers, the set of prime numbers etc One thing I never found satisfactory is that any axiom syst

How many sets of natural numbers are there? An uncountable number. Of course, you could throw out some axioms so that you create an axiom system in which I can't define such a thing as "a subset of the natural numbers", but s
