I miss octant so much. It was really great, it was one of those 80/20 apps. Nowadays I, unironically, mostly use kubectl. I gave k9s a try but i can't make it stick to me, really...

i think you nailed the centrail point. rotational disks usually top up at ~85 MB/sec, with seek time being up to 12 msec for consumer drives and ~6 msec for enterprise drives (15k rpm). ssd could saturate the sata bus and would top at

When I worked at a FAANG, most developers could get remote virtual machine for their development needs. They could pick the machine type and size. It was one of the first thing you'd learn how to do in your emb^H^H^H onboarding :) So i

that's what cert-manager does, for example. certificates are stored in kubernetes secrets. that being said, the ACME spec is fairly simple, writing your own tool shouldn't be much of an hassle. see https://letsencrypt.o

At some point I expect the UK government to come and say “stop kids having unapproved opinions” and introduce some more liberticide laws. Ao sad to see how the uk has fallen from a beacon of freedom to… whatever it is nowadays.

You’re probably doing wrong. You can decouple things if you need to, obtaining certificates and delivering them to the software that will use them can be done by separate systems/services.

the first step in benchmarking software is to use the same hardware. the author failed the first step. everything that follows is then garbage.

I wonder if the codebase will be understandable at all. You can most often “get used” to a codebase because they authors tend to stick to the same patterns in many ways, and they are somewhat coherent across time. After a bit you can kinda
