Whenever I hear "SEO", I instantly feel a presence of something shady and unpleasant with a desire to wash my hands afterwards :) For me, it became synonymous to con artists and fortune tellers.

I have a hypothesis that any company reaching a certain growth threshold becomes evil :) If there's already a fancy named law on this matter, let me know. Oh, btw, the very top level is reserved for companies that are too big to fail :)

I really like Matz. His kind, joyful attitude in himself and towards the language was one of the reasons that got me interested in Ruby. However, this latest news of misconduct on the Heroku part left me with mixed feelings about his place

I agree with this point, however, how Rap Genius spends its money isn't an issue here. Whatever the reason, they paid and expected to get an adequate service from the company, which they didn't. And on top of this, they found the shady prac

As long as sites keep working on those ancient browsers while devs waste precious time spoon-feeding them - they will linger. I myself stopped caring about anything below IE8 a long ago (lately below IE9) and I ask everyone to do the same.

Two thoughts on this: 1. I think the course to a mass surveillance society is set and inevitable. The culture shift in relation to privacy is evident. Both on the net and offline people gradually get used to the idea of being tracked, obser

Quite otherwise, I dislike the trend of large font sizes with huge line heights. But is it really an issue today when you can easily zoom in or out to your preferable size on practically any browser/device?
