Bingo. AI is NOT making raw skill/talent obsolete, rather it’s actually making it more valuable. Deep technical knowledge now has even more leverage in the real world, not less, because you then have more “surfaces” to apply the use of

I’ve been telling people recently: get the fuck off cloud services, self-host your own servers, and learn how to do sysadmin/netadmin stuff like it’s 1990 because I assume all centralized cloud service providers will be infiltrated. AI

This doesn’t solve hostile agents. This solves hostile or compromised inference providers. You really don’t want your secrets in the logs of a random AI provider through OpenRouter or even in Anthropic logs.

I translate texts between Ukrainian, Russian and English dozens of times daily. The LLM translation is not only better, it's also refineable, you can chat with the AI to make changes to what you meant.

Some tasks don’t require SOTA models. For translating small texts I use Gemma 4 on my iPhone because it’s faster and better than Apple Translate or Google Translate and works offline. Also if you can break down certain tasks like JSON heali

The numbers are obviously high, because if this takes off then the price for inference will also drop. But I still think it’s a solid economic model that benefits low income countries the most. In Ukraine, for example, I know people who liv
