Why distribute apps and deal with network latency when you can use Hipersockets to run at memory speeds. Even if it's been a couple of decades you should know that there are certain workloads that the mainframe excels at. Check out the z1

That's because Metro is supposed to run lean as a tablet experience so they don't want every Tom, Dick and Harry just wrapping their windows apps to run on it. Chrome/Firefox/etc. already have Windows apps so now they have to create an app

They're taking some stuff J. Allard started and running with it but they've chased him off. Let's see what they come up with on their own.

Amen. This is probably coming from people who think that a computer which basically resembles a thin slab of aluminum is not too "cold". It's basically minimalist which is what Apple strives for these days and does a good job with. The r

I really like the Metro design that Microsoft has. A mishmash of Metro UI based apps and this older looking aero windows are going to look strange together.

I don't know what is so confusing. They want to shut down hardware production but still keep WebOS as a platform. Now what hardware will it run on? I don't know. I'm going to assume they want to license it.

They probably could but the users don't want to pay the premium for that. PC users that always bring up the cost argument remind me of the guys from the mad max movies who build those insane looking frankencars. Why buy a BMW when you can
