You only have a worse grip of the device when you actually use the thumb probably. When I hold a phone this way and do not actively interact with it, my thumb usually presses on the edge of the device, making the grip firm.

I thinke they meant that they are caching caching stuff on the backend so the downloads "finish" faster if they are other people on the service downloading the same files.

What they can and should do is remove all you data that relates to you excluding invoices (which should just copy your data and not simply reference it) and logs that you need to keep per some law.

You are missing my point that in languages with explicit grammatical gender of nouns, it is not true that \forall grammatical gender==implied sex, e.g. in Polish if you wrote zegarmistrz (watchmaker, masculin) you would use masculin suffixe

But in Russian (as in other Slavic languages) you would use more frequently equivalents to words like 'people', 'nobody' in sentences like these, i.e., when it is not necessary to convey the sex (not grammatical gender).

This is inaccurate. Whether you are required to hand over the card or not is governed by each member state's regulation. For instnace, in Netherlands or UK you can keep your card; in Poland you might still be asked to hand it over and

Actually, in my experience, airport staff in UK is less pleasant to deal with than in other countries in Europe.
