I wonder, why, in today's world, people still use these for Firewall and NAS purposes. Both Mikrotik and Ubiquity offer low-cost systems under 100€, that have been purposed for FW+Routing and come with very capable firmwares, 4 network

Same here. I never understood, why people would opt for an embedded ARM board if other, more attractive options, were available. No ECC and USB<->SATA bridges rule out any serious NAS/server use.

I feel, this may be more about Mozilla trying to get rid of XML at all. Because, why would something simple as RSS be a burden to maintain? The code has been written (!), the format well understood, the years gone should have ironed out the

I disagree. If with "American" you mean the US, then their democratic system is very weak. It constantly gets bought out by lobbyists (but then, maybe it's just more obvious, more visible than here in EU), they only have two

I don't see any incompatibility in the real world. In Europe you are free, unless you cause other people harm. If you cause other people harm, it must be decided, whether that was justified (self-defense) or not (criminal offense). I w

You know, it feels bad, to get physically hurt. To imply, the only damage, that can exist, would be of material nature (here: the meat of your body) gives me the shivers.

I was referring to your tone, which makes it sound, as it would be the most normal thing in the IT world, to have modern technologies running on a system, that died (most would say) 20+ years ago and what's left, is thanks to some extr

It's the 21st century, so maybe you should upgrade from 1992 to 2018! That's 26 years! You really want a heavy weight like ZFS (which is a total memory hog, btw., I use it in my server) on Amiga hardware from 1992? You should be h

I would love to see, what you did there, because, from your description, I do not understand, why you needed to use some DSL, if your input was XML and your output should have been XML, too. And how does my question prove your point? I am

No, XSL-FO does not do formatting in the browser. It is meant to do printed page formatting. Currently the most common drivers produce PDF. But I heard, there is a LaTeX driver as well as PS. Typical workflow is: XML -> XSL-T -> XSL-F
