NASA always needs more competition to keep launch costs low and encouraging innovation and it seems like he hasn't been CEO for a long time. This is indicative of funding competition which is a good thing.

It is much better. Imagine if the whole Manhattan project could have been outsourced and costs you nothing. I expect in a short time that open source models will be almost or almost parity by 2030 and running on consumer devices.

I’m sorry but some of the comments are out of touch. Apple devices do not have any intent of supporting separate OSes . Asahi supports M1 to M2. I can see this as a PSA to not install a beta but I am confused who would install both Akashi a

Sort of expected this at the first attempt. Use their existing partnership for Google being the default search with Google and leverage Google's models.

I bet it will be something like a MacBook Pro but with a windows logo. I wouldn’t expect much different considering the other surfaces look practically the same including the keyboard . Not that that is a bad thing .

You can have a security solution but with large ecosystems like this it can’t be pushed to the ecosystem immediately and everyone will take longer to test and deploy. Right now you could audit packages and make sure you don’t get the latest

I use AI to generate diagrams but not having the time to just clean up the diagram is pretty bad.... at least take the time to do that.

Why are they saying to not distribute on YouTube they just want to give an indicator. Same with labeling if a video is an AD. I find some of the obvious AI content to be funny or informative .

I haven’t had an issue using Python with LLMs where I have to decide “Should one use pip, poetry, or uv?” Since there is enough training data using pip or just choose that since it is the most boring solution and many of the commands map to

Why would I use this instead of using iMessage for Business that is the official way and is more robust and doesn’t violate ToS. If you get shut down I have to redo this setup using Apple ?

At least in my experience depending on how serious the company was about security plugin downloading would be prohibited.

People keep on saying Apple is far behind its competitors on AI. If Apple just waited on their Apple Intelligence announcements about Siri or other features that would have been best. Right now Apple makes money off of any subscriptions thr

To put this into more context Apple really needed a modern kernel that for some reason had been tried multiple times and failed . Microsoft succeeded with Windows NT. Practically the acquisition of any company was motivated to just move a G

Yea Apple has been fighting themselves to upgrade to new Mac’s in so long that they had to start being competitive in price but even this isn’t an upgrade path for people and more a driver of sales in education.

HN is completely out of touch with this laptop. No one cares about any of this analysis they just want a cheap Mac. This has sold so much that the A19 processor is having problems to being sourced . Also 8gb is good enough for the target ma

Sometimes on HN while this is technically correct I wonder if Mac users will truly notice. This is probably a limitation of the A19 chip. Many people just see the price tag and buy.
