There are some very bad, cheap LEDs on the market. Sometimes even under name brands. I've learned to be pretty picky about which ones I buy, both in terms of their longevity as well as the quality of the light.

I have definitely done it for my personal domains and I agree that it's not particularly hard. I just meant that for my personal domains I have not found the reports as useful as I do in business contexts, because I am the only person

DMARC reports are not good for "keep an eye on who is spoofing my domain and then take action on it." But what they ARE good for is finding gaps in your DMARC policy. Like "oops, I forgot to add the helpdesk ticketing system

Yup. I have found a strong correlation between memory pressure and audio glitches with my external dac. I filed a bug on this over two years ago and it has gotten no traction, but it sounds like you debugged it a bit more deeply than I did,

I was in an interview process for a job where the next step sounded like something like that, and I went ahead and withdrew before I got to it.

At least within the US, individual to individual wine shipping is basically impossible without breaking some laws and/or regulations. Typically, you need to be a licensed retailer or producer (winery), and the rules vary depending on t

I would, and I have recently. It's certainly not my first choice, but in absolute terms, the risk is still very low. And depending on the route (and, as you mentioned, the possibility that the aircraft can change after booking), it can

I don't think we know that yet. Yes, I have seen many reports that the Max has the "exact same door" as the 737-900, but how confident are we that there wasn't some cost-cutting or "simplification" measure done

Also, there are many things that I can judge to be good or bad, but that doesn't mean I can produce high quality examples myself. And getting high quality work from others isn't cheap, so it might be out of reach for self-publishe

I hate take home projects, but with the hiring environment being what it is right now, I'm not sure we have the luxury of refusing to interview with companies just because we don't like their interview process.

Yup. I still occasionally buy stuff there, but I now do a lot more diligence on who the seller is and what they're offering so I know what to expect.

Agreed. I've worked at more than one company on this list, in positions with visibility into multiple peoples' total comp, and none of those are shown accurately here.

If there's an interesting Netscape story, I'd love to hear it. I can say that I was at another prominent tech company on that NYE and we basically pulled an all-nighter waiting for the Y2K sky to fall, but basically nothing went w

The "single line of powershell" thing really undermines this person's credibility. Without knowing how and where this information is stored, how can he possibly know what the level of effort in retrieving it is? I agree that

Is there any particular type or brand of earplugs you recommend, that are comfortable enough to wear for multiple hours and don't make the music sound too muffled (while still reducing the volume to safe levels)?
