Why should Apple pay any taxes to the US government for things it sells overseas? They already paid (or in this case, avoided) EU taxes on the sales in EU countries. If we're arguing about 'fairness', the EU should be getting

I've been a developer for years and worked for multiple companies: the most stressful professional situations I've ever have been in have been maybe a 4 out of 10 stress-wise, whereas interviews range from 7 to 9 out of 10. Interv

We do have low-cost carriers like Spirit & Frontier airlines. I know somebody who was in a long-distance Washington DC - Florida relationship and was able to get $20-$40 round-trip flights for weekend trips pretty regularly.

That's not an abusive worker, that's just a bad worker. In the current system bosses are sometimes hesitant to fire people if they know they have a family to support. Knowing people have UBI to lean on there's much less guilt

Your numbers are way off. In the US a young, single developer who follows a budget should be able to save at least $2k/month. $80k/year income less 25% for payroll & income taxes leaves $60k/year. $1.5k/month in hou

I find that if there are enough conversations in an open-plan office the conversations blend together and I can tune them out (similarly to a coffee shop). At the cube-farm I worked at there would often be exactly one conversation happening

Do you know that or are you just being cynical? Chase's program saves them money that would have been spent on on boarding and off boarding employees. I also know people who have gotten new internal jobs via Wells Fargo's program.

Because if you are growing 1 acre of lettuce across 10 floors of a building (1/10th acre per floor) now you need to collect 1 acre of sunlight from a 1/10th acre sized roof. Where do you get the other 9/10th of an acre of sun

Economics has been evolving from a field dominated by navel-gazing theorists to being more behavioral and research-based. Try letting go of the 70 year old theories and read some modern research.

This assumes that the primary reason to start a company is to become fantastically wealthy, which I would contest. Sure, most founders want to get rich, but I'd assert most would be just as happy to end up in the 8 figure range ($10&#x
