Yep... I've seen exactly this happen. People losing data/access by their own fault and yet being extremely mad at the OS developer or the company they have an account with. And, no, it does not matter if you tell them 100 times th

Have you been talking to LLMs so much that you've completely adopted their style or did you just tell the AI to write this comment for you?

Why is the author so confused about the use of the word "organization"? Every account in Claude is part of an organization even if it's an organization of one. It's just the way they have accounts structured. And it'

I prefer audit tables. Soft deletes don't capture updates, audit tables do (you could make every update a delete and insert in a soft delete table, but that adds a lot of bloat to the table)

Some of them even give you access to this stuff. C# has Vector<T> which picks implementations of various operations based on the current CPU's capabilities. But they also let you have complete control if you want by providing fun

It's possible to have contrast too low, that doesn't mean maximum contrast is the best. Even HN doesn't go full black on white, the background is off-white.

And of course if it has access to run the code that it's developing, it can also do anything it wants because it can just add code that performs the operations it is trying.

Not everyone is handling PII. Where I work, anything like that is only available to a very limited set of people who absolutely need to be able to see it. Also some systems allow access control at the column and even row level, so even if i

It's weird that they made a mistake of allowing this after having so many years to learn from their mistake about copies already being non-obvious (by that I mean that references and copies look identical at the call sites)
