Do you know about http://asciidoctor.org/ ? It's asciidoc tuned to look a lot more like Markdown and they also have a JS renderer, browser extensions, ... Might be useful to you

How is it net neutrality complicated ? ISP's business is to give reliable Internet access to paying customers and that's how it always worked (or supposed to). Content providers like Youtube and Netflix do exactly the same thing o

My understanding is that it's all automated for level 1 trust where you can only generate basic single-domain SSL certs. I don't remember getting a call.

It's not like they invented the pricing during heartbleed, it was always out there. StartSSL can make the certificate for free because their infrastructure is all automated. You don't know if certificate revocation requires human

That's pretty cool. I was thinking of bundling a default.nix in the root of my projects with maybe a recipes/ folder for things like ruby, libxml2, ... It's definitely possible to do that and even link to nixpkgs but then you

Nix doesn't provide the source package metadata and publishing infrastucture that CPAN/rubygems/pypi provide. In fact nixpkgs is a consumer of those infrastructures. On the client side, nix expressions' dependency resolu

http://www.w3.org/Amaya/ is not as old (1996) but is also pretty cool. I wish they had more funding to explore that idea that the web should be editable (as long as you have the authorization to PUT).

I think we're operating on a different definition of "language". Unlike natural languages a programming language has extension points to define new vocabulary, it doesn't mean that all available words are part of the lan

JSON is annoying with the commas. One forgotten comma or comma too much and the whole file doesn't parse.

The problem is when unexpected variables are overwritten. It would be better to have a mandatory list of allowed variables that can be extracted. $login = '1234'; extract(array('login'=>true, 'messsage&

I agree that the article fails to expose the main issues properly but JavaScript in the browser, in it's current implementation is harmful. It gives you a false sense of security. The biggest issue is that the crypto code can be change

Individual blob access is not very reliable on S3. In a previous company uploading big-ish (1-10000MB) files was part of the service. We would see failing uploads or slow writes all the time. Make sure to queue and wrap your upload script w

If some code runs orders of magnitude slower it's the same as being incompatible. Yes you might execute an ASM.JS game on older browsers but at 1FPS it's not enjoyable.

It's possible to send a channel over a channel in go. This allows to for example to pass in the response channel of a message. It's possible to pass in file descriptors on unix sockets but it only works locally.
