Upwork is a monolith. It's a broker but also holds the developer and customer data. Competing brokers cannot enter the market without having to ask developers and customers to duplicate their data. If the developer had it's own se

Why is a central authority controlling the market again ? What we need is interfaces for the customer and workers that can be matched together by a broker. It's probably quite hard to find the right interface but it would then benefit

I wonder what proportion of the welfare programs is just handing out money to the poor. All the rest, like counseling, helping to find jobs, extra equipment for disabled persons, ... this would certainly stay in place.

Thanks. So no clear winner yet. Does libraries have to be re-written to support the coroutines ?

Is rust ever going to re-introduce the N:M model again ? For services which need to handle 1M connections the system threads are too expensive and mio brings back the callback hell.

As I understand it Realm is an Object database. It's similar to the GemStone Smalltalk database in that regard but only local to the device. How does Realm tackle data syncing between devices ?

This is the next generation of shell code right there. Why try to obfuscate programs in base64-encoded strings when you have it invisibly lying around in plain light.

It probably uses the password to create a token. The token is then stored on your computer. This allows the app to get access to github but also makes it easy for you to revoke the token. See https://github.com/settings/

Yeah it's fine, people get upset with silly things all the time. If you can move it into capistrano then they won't have the dependency argument and it will be good.

The best approach would be to put the harrow advertisement when installing the capistrano gem. Something in the lines of: "hey, if you want to support our work check out Harrow, we think you'll like it. `gem install capistrano-har

Generics introduce more complexity in the type system which in turn makes the compiler slower. Generics introduce more complexity for the reader of the code because it's another abstraction to understand. It's debatable but when y
