That's a separate concern, but it's definitely a concern. I agree China could potentially punish easier, but they can also bribe/allow grifting easier.

The US govt will force into existence a competitor OR keep one of the old ones around on life support. They have made their position clear and have been backing it up with money. All governments probably want their own space program, but on

I don't really disagree, but Python is complicated because the language existed before all of those others for the most part and got quite popular before them too. This means the various use cases for Python got spread about long befor

I agree generally speaking, but what does that have to do with your local books? Nothing. You almost certainly don't have access to your employer's books. Also, the ledger entries for "bregma, services rendered" i.e. pay

Of course! There is a standard term for that: Chart of Accounts If you search for example chart of accounts <INDUSTRY YOU CARE ABOUT> you can probably get a sample set to work from.

Agreed, but every industry/sector might have their own set of standards that usually are overlays on top of GAAP/etc. For example in the US for state and local governments there is GASB: https://gasb.org

In a general sense, it really doesn't matter, as long as you are consistent. That said, there are accounting standards that define the general set of accounts for a particular industry, etc. But every person having a set of books will

We 100% refuse to do that, no way. The data in the calendar table is owned by HR. They update it. If they farm it out to their receptionist, fine with me. It's not a complicated task, but it's just complicated enough that a compu

Then you won the rounding lottery. It's great that you and the bank each round the same way. Also I'm jealous you only have 1 bank to deal with. We have many banks we do business with, one of them rounds differently than the rest.
