Multimonitor with 4K tends to need fast GPU just for the bandwidth, else dragging large windows around can feel quite slow (found that out running 3 x 4K monitors on a low-end GPU).

Yes, just went from i3770 (12 years old!) to a 9900x as I tend to wait for a doubling of single core performance before upgrading (got through a lot of PCs in the 386/486 era!). It's actually only 50% faster according to cpubenchm

The oft-cited reason is each call fires up a new process so is expensive in terms of resources (though resources are cheap these days). Additionally, the CGI program has to faff about to retrieve data and parameters from the request (easy t

I have noticed that for local AI at least, there is little difference between an old system (i3770/Asus P8Z77WS from 2012) which has 4 PCIe 2.0 x16 slots (supports 16/16, 16/8/8 or 8/8/8/8) running a pair

Literally just having spare listening sockets, ready for incoming connections (and obv. not busy-waiting on them). Just reducing to the number actually in-use was the biggest speed-up - it was like Windows was busy-waiting internally for ne
