> We often hear that making small incremental improvements every day can lead to great things. This popular piece of advice rings true... A journey of 10,000 miles starts with a single step. You can only cross a chasm with a mighty leap.

Pretty much every business (mostly start-ups) I've been involved have been a combination of hardware and software; anyone who can work both is never going to be out of a job. These days I tend to mix both of those things with bicycles

It may not have a zillion libraries, but surprised that a site trying to be zippy uses low-contrast text (obviously, I am not a fan of the "increases engagement time" school of thought).

Governments run on alcohol and parties (at least in the UK, as demonstrated by Johnson et al.) Not really my area (or even my hemisphere) but US presidents have had a varied history of leadership success and alcohol use (anyone got a chart?

Here's a Vulcan landing with unsafe nose gear; hold back on the stick to keep the nose up (but not so long it comes down with a bump). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxshOMFTZdM

On of the more evocative things (esp. for those in the UK) was a Spitfire helping out a Vulcan (XH558 no less) with nosegear issues in 2015. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/that-time-a-wwii-spitfire-he...

By buying github, they got the ability to suck down all the code on it, at scale. If I understand correctly, it was then used for AI training - so perhaps more like open source being co-opted than supported.

>Microsoft has gotten so much better with integrating and supporting open source over the years. Eh...integrating yes, support? And effectively declaring themselves in charge of MIDI specs, hmmm ("...no longer under NDA etc").

'tr' and 'cut' are also very useful; 'tr' can be used to get rid of extra spaces and to conver commas to spaces and vice versa (and to handle text data with pretty much any character used as a separator). &

Probably not a popular opinion in a systemd world (and being responsible for a lot of critical systems where things don't change much but absolutely have to work every day), the nice thing about sysv is all you need to know a little bi

The Adafruit nrf52940 feather is a great companion to the DK, since it has the 10 pin header on it for SWD programming. When the cable is connected, the DK switches to programming the offboard (Adafruit) nrf52840 so it's pretty much tr
