   I replaced Claude with DeepSeek V4 Flash via API. Not local, but 95% the quality at 5% the price. Close enough.

   I work with Chinese AI APIs daily. The brain drain concern is real - several engineers I know at Chinese AI companies have had their passports held by HR for months. The irony is many of them could earn 3-5x more abroad.
