Have to disagree, having worked at multiple companies using Exchange for their email servers but with Linux workstations. It's not so uncommon for software devs to request a Linux system, depending on the field. I'll agree that it

That issue does not really work in GNOME's favor, based on reading that I'd say they're being pretty toxic.

I wasn't aware of Balsa or Geary, but it's interesting to note that the author has mentioned that they are affected by GNOME's culture. I also have found the GNOME devs to have issues with admitting any fault at all, security

I feel like I should note that Exchange support is indeed a plugin, and isn't installed by default on (for example) Fedora. However, I believe it's a first party plugin.

I know what I'm talking about, I am a professional working in electrical engineering. Please don't insinuate that I don't, it's unnecessarily insulting. If you have two power supplies at different voltages and connect th

I don't disagree that we need regulation, but I also think citing literal fiction isn't a good argument. We're also very, very far away from anything approaching AGI, so the idea of it becoming evil seems a bit far fetched.

Anthropic bought millions of books and scanned them, meaning that (at least for those sources) they were legally obtained. There has also been rampant piracy used to obtain similar material, which I won't defend. But it's not an a

Xerox already went through that lawsuit and won, which is why photocopiers still exist. The tool isn't in the wrong for being told to print out the copyrighted works. The user still had to make the conscious decision to copy that parti

What do you mean by "blow"? There's often a polyfuse which will trip, and needs to cool down to reset. I haven't seen a normal fuse but I believe it's possible. Efuses are also common, to allow the system to automat

That would be true if both sides were exactly 5.0V, but they're not. There's a 5% tolerance, from 4.75V to 5.25V, and in practice you will see chargers often run "5V" at 5.1V intentionally, to account for resistive loss

SOTA performance is relative to model size. If it performs better than other models in the 70B range (e.g. Llama 3.3) then it could be quite useful. Not everyone has the VRAM to run the full fat Deepseek R1.

No, that sentence is separate from the rest. Take a look at the pull request: # Up to 150 TFLOPS faster for fp8! if specialization.constants["dtype"] == gl.float8e5: name = "cutlass_" + name

It's pretty simple - people need to eat (and fulfill other basic needs, of course), to eat they need jobs, to get jobs they need to pass the interview. The hiring process in a lot of industries is heavily gamed at this point, to the po

It's worth noting that reason this works is because basically every LLM architecture currently in use is severely limited by memory bandwidth, not by compute. So it's trivial to run several requests at a time, while waiting for th
