When I had the delight of ordering my ACME Klein Bottle, Cliff was kind enough to take it on a brief (if disappointingly 3-dimentional) tour of his home, and provide much appreciated updates on the state of his garden as viewed through the

Yes, though full disclaimer, the cartridge is a tiny bit more powerful than your average NES game, and that is definitely contributing. The capabilities of the cartridge I'm using are something like Nintendo's MMC5 (used for Castl

Lookup tables are the only reason I was able to get this effect working at all: https://twitter.com/zeta0134/status/1756988843851383181 The clever bit is that it's two lookup tables here: the big one stores t

Happy Obsidian user here. I love that the "vault" concept it uses is literally just a folder of markdown files, meaning I'm still in full control of my data. I don't use their proprietary sync service, I just drop it int

I tried this! I went completely caffeine free for over a year and was... fine? But way more tired all the time, and generally having trouble focusing on tasks. In my particular case, I suspect caffeine is a self administered coping mechanis

Some of us have *really* slow internet connections, such that the much smaller day one patch is still going to take a quite long time to download. Much longer than the full installation from disc.

Would this necessarily be a bad thing? "In the office" could substitute for a video call. I always got the impression that a coding challenge during an interview was much less "did you memorize this solution in advance"

For a lot of kids (myself included), the deepest and strongest desire was not to code, though that's how the effort can manifest. The desire is to then show the end result to someone (often a parent/authority figure) for recogniti

... Can we turn CO2 into a physical solid? My chemistry is non-existent but here is a thought experiment: what if harvesting CO2 and using it to press coins was given real monetary value? Just get it out of the air and spend it, however you

Safari works great if you run 100% Apple devices, and breaks the moment you want to mix and match with even one non-blessed device. Firefox will happily sync to everything, and so will Chrome.

This is almost certainly because Street Pass is device-to-device, based entirely on proximity to other users. There's no server to shut down, so Nintendo would have to go out of their way to turn it off by releasing some sort of update
