I remember the go to alternative "standard" library was being developed by some bank from Wall Street. Is it still the case? i.e. do most people still use that 3rd party lib or did the real standard library evolve since then?

I believe the original intent of such Olympiads was to test how pupils equipped with only standard school education would tackle non-standard puzzles. Eventually this turned into pupils attending special schools, having coaches, doing such

Delegating all the fun of making games to LLMs and leaving only the boring part for yourself puts you in the infinite procrastination mode. Watching LLM generating the code doesn't help with producing the dopamine.

My litmus test for generative AI: generate a complete spritesheet for a 2D pixel art action game, e.g. only for the battle tank or main hero movements. No success so far.

(Not so) funny that there was nothing "visual" in Visual C++. The dialog resource editor was a joke. I remember how I was relieved when I discovered Borland C++Builder, so I didn't have to switch to Delphi for Windows softwar

Even for Windows-only GUI software, it is much safer and sane to use cross-platform frameworks such as wxWidgets and Qt Widgets.
