Apple does not claim ownership of your output that is done on your own time, with your own resources, as long as it doesn't relate to work you're doing at Apple. I recently signed an employment agreement with them. It was the most

In my opinion, Nvidia took over the market because they picked up the pieces from SGI when the company failed. SGI had all of the engineering talent to make a world class 3D chip for PC gaming but SGI management was too busy clinging to the

RISC-V is not that close to ARM, and it's not mature enough for Apple to move to it. RISC-V is interesting but I think we'll see it adopted in commercial embedded systems first.

The Amiga was a huge leap forward once ARexx became popular. It was an easy to use scripting language that allowed you to receive events and instruct the OS and applications to run commands and functions. After the release of AmigaOS 2 it b

Von Neumann Architecture has been dead and buried for 20 years. We only imagine our x86 is Von Neumann because there is coherence between the instruction and data caches. Every modern machine is a Modified Harvard Architecture. http:/

X86 system management mode is not something you can turn off. It is there to protect motherboard firmware code that runs on the CPU. That code does things like emulate PS/2 mouse and keyboard. See chapter 34 in [1]. SMM is not for ente

PTX is a virtual ISA that is not the same as the machine code that runs on the device. In his Introduction[1] wiki page, he says that he studied sgemm implementations and came to the conclusion that NVidia is not using PTX, but an assembler

I think your equation is modeling an exact savings of 300 for sending 1000 pieces of mail. The discount is 10% for sending 1000 pieces. Mine is simply comparing the cost of sending n pieces of mail at $3 each to 90% of the sum of n pieces a

It's even less than that. The equation that describes the decision to send envelopes is: 0.9(3n + 1000 - n) < 3n Which is the same as n > 750.
