Thank you for this. I had given up on Python GUI frameworks a while ago. I tried this out and it lives up to its name. Dead simple and does the job.

I've been using Emacs for an entire 1 year and I have to say - I only like OrgMode. I've barely tried out Magit, so maybe that's another killer feature. But for programming, I think that Emacs is too steep a hill to climb whe

I'm a huge fan of the first 2 plugins, but I didn't know about the per-directory history plugin. I might put that in my toolbox. Thanks for the recommendation!

I hate to say it, but I don't use workspaces. I use a number of window management keyboard shortcuts in place of it.

Bought this after seeing the pretty solid reviews here on this thread. I've been using VcXsrv with no problems thus far. But I really like that this project's website has nice documentation. Also, this works with no configuration

I would honestly just start out with either Spacemacs or Doom Emacs. There is a lot of information on these 'distributions' and many YouTube videos, as well. These 'distros' will allow you to quickly get a feel for the p

That might be a decent approach. I went with blocking some Windows 10 functionality via the hosts file. Many months later, I wanted to download the new Windows Terminal from the Microsoft store and I just could not figure out why the MS sto

Exactly my sentiments. Every time I use a different OS - any of those that you mentioned - I find tons of things to complain about that Windows does not suffer from. At the end of the day, most of these operating systems are awesome. But th

I think your last paragraph is key here. Go is a simple language, which makes it practical for large projects, with many collaborators, some of whom might be fresh out of school. Google must have benefited internally a lot by Go.

I was a user of NPP for .. maybe 10 years. I finally gave Sublime another try just a few months ago and I'm full time convert. I'm not knocking on NPP but I think Sublime is a little bit more sleek. And it's cross-platform. T

Yes, but should people take on substantial debt to get a 'meaningful' degree that will not provide a real ROI? Studying fluffy majors is only logical for 1%ers, basically, because you don't really have to work for a living an
