"Why do we still use SQL" and "Why do we still use relational databases" are two very different questions. They seem like much the same thing, because SQL is pretty much the only query language offered by relational data

Yes, but according to the article, Mastodon only has 35K users at the moment. The question is how they're going to enforce this policy when/if it reaches Twitter size (hundreds of millions of users). When armies of trolls show up

"We" are not using it for the same reason nazis are not using it: because hardly anyone's there. It needs critical mass first. Once that happens, nazis/trolls/etc will find their way there too, I'm afraid.

In spite of what the article claims, the vast majority of employers do NOT let you work remotely 100% of the time. They are mostly located in the big/expensive cities, so that's where developers will go. There's really no mys

You are correct. The problem here seems to be that the OP's tests depend on implementation details, which of course shouldn't happen. Presumably this wouldn't occur in a language where you could hide these implementation deta

You say that like it's a bad thing. Python is a multi-paradigm language, allowing you to pick (or create) the idiom that is best suited for solving the problem at hand. It is not a straitjacket language that tells you how to think. The

Interesting, because a common criticism of Go is that it's "stuck in the 70s". [1] It's "modern" only because of its age, not because of its features. [1] https://github.com/ksimka/go-is-no

One way is to model the call stack explicitly. I.e. you will need objects (or structs, in Go) representing a stack frame, and have a stack of those (the actual call stack). Evaluation works very different that way, since you can no longer p
