Same question -- how does this individual know that their team only passed 2/5 interviews, and what the back and forth negotiations were. It seems to me they're either making this up, or they are sharing info that I'd guess is going to mak

I'll third this recommendation. Herman's book is succinct, clear, and well-written. Although I wouldn't recommend it as your first intro to JS; If you've already been hacking in JS for a while, and want to take it to the next level, this

Can I ask why (without trying to sound awful and steal someone's front page thunder)? If you want to do something interesting with the Pi you'll probably be wanting to connect other hardware to it. You can't when it is in the cloud. Othe

I'm not sure what you mean by _really able to be huge_ -- a large single page app? a site with a huge number of pages? # lines of code? I don't think there are any hidden limitations in Angular proper -- in fact it will allow you to orga

I also write a LOT less code, a LOT less boilerplate code -- after writing a number of Angular apps, I won't go back.

Who said life is fair or has to be fair -- I said the behavior was irksome. I actually think it points to a market need for a tech journal covering startups that has integrity. I'd love to read that.

From the standpoint of the little guy trying to get his product / service heard, this kind of thing can be pretty irksome. Someone else linked to this orgasmic description of the mailbox service going down: http://techcrunch.com/2013/02/1

There are many different incarnations of "live reload"; it is definitely not OSX only. The concept is simple - refresh the front-end / back-end when and edit or save occurs.

Like I said, it's a great start, but Chrome Inspector still does a lot more (right now), and I'm more apt to stay there -- but this is inspiring, and if it gets closer to feature parity with C.I. -- well it will be a no-brainer then, and I'

Never head of ScraperWiki. Took a quick look, and it looks they do provide this kind of service. Regardless, that hardly means the market is saturated. Businesses need this kind of thing A LOT. If you do it right, it could prove quite f

It looks like a great start. I don't think it will yet pull me away from a dual monitor with ST2 + Chrome Inspector + Live Reload, but if it is further polished I think it could.

Disclaimer: I'm a hardcore phantomjs user. Add a service that scrapes results and I think you'll be overwhelmed with interest. Scraping is a pain. It takes a special niche talent -- but a ton of people want it. Let people submit what i

It's an interesting tale, and I honestly have no bias toward Ruby or Go, but the cause/effect relationship is poorly illustrated (we switched languages). We all know runtime / performance / scalability is more complex than that. I'd like

There is a startup penalty to getting phantomjs executable up (including all of its WebKit internals), but once you're there, I've never had any performance issues. Roll a script using casper.each() and feed it an array of urls. It is typ

I have done quite a fair bit of scraping over the last year, and I have to say that the combo of PhantomJS / CasperJS is really unbeatable. I have had to navigate some fairly awful DOM structures replete with errors, confirm dialogs, IE-on

I'm working on a project to embed WebKit in vehicles. One of the things I'm interested in doing is running a suite of tests to ascertain things like compliance with various specs and performance. I see the 28k layout tests in the WebKit r

I looked at the 3 feature set, and concluded I don't need it. I'm very happy with ST2 and all the plugins that work with it today. I have to get s$&#t done every day. I don't need to be upgrading alpha/beta stuff and then waste all day

I use it all the time for Raspberry Pi images - configure / setup, backup, etc. if you don't have hardware yet, you can get everything ready, and then just push it onto an SD card when the hardware arrives.

Agree with the OP. I think someone like Flipboard is an example of doing it right. It is focused entirely on the content and the best way to present it to you for ease of consumption.

This is great. One of the trickiest parts of learning AngularJS is figuring out how directives work, and how to write your own effective directives. The Angular team posted a couple of vids the other day that helped me a lot http://blog.
