In theory, you would most likely be in violation of your license to utilize Microsoft’s intellectual property. In practice, they don’t seem to care much. I suspect most of their Windows-related profits come from enterprises and OEMs.

I would say there are two types of audiophile communities: 1. The sort that’s just looking to show off or is completely obsessed, without paying much regard to the enjoyment of the audio itself. 2. The sort that just wants to enjoy music. T

American driving is nothing compared to Italian driving. It’s a complete mess. The very first time I went to Italy, my cab driver got into an accident before we ever even left the airport. He was trying to do a crazy maneuver to avoid a fee

This post would be perfectly fine on HN if people were actually discussing the pros and cons of Facebook taking such actions. However, as it stands, it's turned into an abstract debate over which entities are the cause of all the prob

I would think it wouldn’t work if other people’s private property is in view, though, no? In a typical suburban area, it would be difficult to position a camera in such a way that it’s not also recording your neighbor’s property.

The ads and claims that “X will rape your children if this law passes” were so ridiculously over-the-top that it isn’t worth drawing any conclusions from the statements. It was a desperate attempt at instilling fear, and it didn’t work. It

I’m not at all convinced this is what drivers want, and I haven’t seen any trustworthy sources indicating that it’s true. Furthermore, as a passenger, I’d rather pay a higher cost and know that the driver who I’m entrusting with my life has

Indeed, if that timeline is to be believed—and I have no reason to doubt it—it’s pretty damning. GitHub just kept putting it off. When they asked to delay the disclosure indefinitely at the very last second, of course they were told that wo

My understanding is that it’s not a full PoC. It’s enough to crash Windows, but not enough to do more than that. An attacker would likely need to do additional work to make it relevant to them unless they’re just a prankster. Given that the

That would be "Canadians who went off the rails." It's silly to get this pedantic as long as the statement isn't misleading. The meaning is fairly clear here; even the "prey vs. pray" issue is unimportant.

Where are you getting these prefixes? It’s M, not m. 3M = 3,000,000. 3MM means the same thing, but it’s usually only seen in finance, and it’s not an SI prefix. 4MMM is meaningless. m (lowercase) means “milli-,” which certainly isn’t what y

Most people who bother with TOTP are a little more security-conscious. If you’re attempting to phish random targets, rather than spear phishing, you’re probably not going to bother with all that.

When properly implemented, TOTP codes are difficult to phish without tipping off the user because codes can't be reused. The spec requires that the service not allow code reuse within a given time window--although not all websites com
